Happy Murph Day!

January is the month that Murphy-the-dog joined our family. {You see, I have to say "Murphy-the-dog" because my maiden name was Murphy, and I don't want any confusion . . .} They told us that he was one when we got him, so we are currently celebrating his FOURTH birthday! That's right, for now, Murphy and I are the same age.
Murphy is a sweet dog. In our past lives, we doted on and cared for him much more than most furry four-legged friends . . . when we first got him, I was so worried about him being lonely that I would do my hair and put on my makeup in the den next to him. Hilarious and oh, so ridiculous! Oh, how things have changed! Our poor {neglected} pup!

While Murphy still holds a place of honor on our kitchen chalkboard, his toy eating and lack of attentiveness to our "commands" leaves him frolicking in our backyard jungle more than inside our warm home. BUT, it is his birthmonth, and in honor of that we:

have put murphy on our shoes and will take him with us everywhere we go . . . we have four of these, and we love having new shoes on both feet! {hoorah for fun christmas gifts like these!}
Can't you see the resemblance? {yellow ears, white head, black nose?}
and, we also let him eat an obscene amount of cheerios off of the dining room floor today {well, maybe that was just part of normal life, but whatever}
