Mommy’s Little Cooks!

Today after our nap, we made more “nola bars.”  The boys have been on a sandwich strike of late, so we have been eating many homemade granola bars at lunchtime.  William, especially, is a huge fan!  We ran out yesterday, so we did some afternoon baking today to replenish our supply!

The boys took turns adding the different ingredients to the bowl.  Hudson kept yelling “MORE!  MORE!” after his turn.  The babes are really learning the concept of mixing . . . William chants “mix, mix, mix!” over and over!  I gave them their own bowls and spatulas to use while I finalized our tasty treat!

Happenings!

Please excuse the lack of posts this week . . . we have been busy.  Our good friends, the Kings, moved to Alabama today, so we have been soaking up every last minute with them!  It has been a sad week, but we love our friends and are excited for their new phase of life (Harper will get to live near her BB, and she is quite excited!)

While the moving van packed their things, we had a picnic lunch in Daley’s yard and then let the little ones run wild and play in the baby pool since it was a sticky 95 degrees today!  Our pool time was impromptu, so please excuse the diapers!

Wandering Hudson . . .

In our spare time this week, Hatch and Bumpa have been working on the beginning stages of a deck . . . which we are thrilled about!

There are holes, like this, all around our yard, so the boys and I are steering clear.  Dog Dog, however, has had a bout in a hole or two . . .

Tonight’s work was a little loud, so we went out to see what was happening before putting the boys down . . .

Every time Daddy used his big drill to put holes into the wall, Hudson would just erupt into laughter.  I think we may have a budding helper here!

Despite his somber expression, Hudson was genuinely thrilled to offer his help and his saw . . .

William and Uncle J were both fascinated by the happenings . . .

The other night, while Daddy and Bumps were working, we did some swinging!  {with the help of my back-up evening assistants, Sugie and Uncle J!}

 

I love this sweet face!  

Hudson is very busy {screaming “go, Go, GOOOO!” every chance he gets!}, and here, he is quite determined to pay a visit to Dog Dog!

Sunday at Shoo-ga’s!

William has been in the confused habit of calling Sugie “Judah,” but in the last two weeks or so, he has started to call her “Shoo-ga!”  It is quite hilarious!  We spent our Sunday at Sugie and Bumpa’s house to visit with them, Aunt Katie, and our favorite cousin Charlie before they head out for San Fran!

We had a surprise visit from Great Great A’ Monny and Great Great Uncle Fred!

We tried to get some pictures with the three boys, but Hudson did not want to be contained.  {As a sidenote, Hudson screams “GO GO GOOOOOO!” from his bed everyday in the morning and at naps . . . and he yells “STUCK!” from his car seat.  This rascal loves to be on the MOVE!}

And A Monny and Uncle Fred came bearing gifts!  How sweet of them!  And, boy were these little cooks excited!!  {A Monny is the world’s best bargain hunter!  She picked up this adorable retro kitchen for $5.25!  I love it!}

Week o’ Fun!

We had a great week this past week . . . we kicked it off with a Going Away Party for our neighbors (which was fun but quite sad) and then had a very Bumpa Birthday!

We love our Bumpa, so it was very fun to celebrate him!

We thought it was so cute of Daddy {who we all call Daddy or else William will repeatedly call him “HATCH HATCH HATCH!”} and Uncle J to wear matching shirts and hats!

Bumps and his three babies!  Yes, Baby Charlie flew in to be with Bumpa on his big day!  {Well, that, and so his mama could be in her sweet friend’s wedding!}  

On Thursday, Auntie Al and her mama came to town and we went to Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens on Friday morning . . . it was so fun, and beautiful!

And, Saturday night, we kept Charlie while his mama was at the wedding.  It was so fun watching the boys begin to play together for the first time!  So cute!  Oh, what fun times are ahead!
