Love one another!

Hatch and I pray that our boys will love one another . . . I think this is a good start! This video is so funny to me because today was actually a very difficult day. Both babies have an upper tooth coming in, and they have both been very sad and fussy and neither wanted to nap much. We had lots of tears and lots of yelling and sadness today. This video was taken right before bed (and right after Hudson peed on me for the second day in a row!) . . . this is proof that there are redeeming qualities to even the saddest of days!

In the video, you can see some of Hudson's "rocking" moves . . . he is scooting backwards quickly now . . . and I think the forward spring will come soon! William, instead of crawling, is going to get up and run. Both boys got their first bruises this past week . . . poor babies! Here are a few pictures of William in action:

Oh Boy!

It feels much like we headed to the beach last week with our two babies, and we came home with little boys! Hudson and William have aquired new skills and are changing every day! Hudson is so close to crawling! He pushes up on all fours and can move forward sometimes . . . and slowly . . . but, he is really scooting around backwards with increasing speeds. (any tips for babyproofing my dog-hair-filled home are much appreciated!) His new favorite song is "If you're happy and you know it," and he loves to try to clap along--it is too cute! Hud continues making funny faces and laughs along with his audience! While at the beach, one of William's top teeth began to pop through (Hudson got his lower teeth first, but now Will is getting his upper one first!) William also decided that he no longer prefers to sit down . . . he wants to stand (or have you hold him, standing) at all times. He is babbling like crazy and blowing rassberries and spitting all over the place (he spit all over his doctor this week!) These boys are so much fun!

Hudson on the go--he backed himself under the armoire while I was in the kitchen making bottles . . . and he wasn't too happy about it!

Fun with food: This is an example of Will's raspberry-ing gone wrong:

Caught!!

Can you make this face?

Hudson and William have both started to notice and enjoy Murphy the dog. Hudson squeals whenever Murphy comes into the room. Murphy, being the intelligent food-finder that he is, has made himself a new home:

Uncle Judah is very helpful with his nephews--thank you for all of your help, Uncle JJ!

Our good friend Grayson came over on Friday so that we could play with him while his mom worked. Gray is Hudson and Will's best friend, in case you were wondering. We had a great time--the boys just loved "playing" together. William thought Grayson was especially fun . . . for some reason, William would just look at Gray and bust out laughing. He did it over and over again! It was so cute!

Hudson, Grayson (5 mos), and William

This picture makes me laugh, because Hudson is so proud that he has two toys in his hand, and Grayson is like "um, woah, what just happened? do you think you could share?"

One of Hatch's roomies from UVA, Seth, and his lady friend, Tracy, came for a visit from Colorado (via Charlottesville) last night. It was so fun to see them and hear all about their time in Africa and their plans to be in Boston in a few weeks!

Beach Babes (aka the longest blog post in the history of time)

The babies have just spent their first of (hopefully!) many weeks at the beach! We went to Emerald Isle, NC with the Siddons clan, and we had a wonderful time! (We missed you, cousin Timmy!) Hudson and Will both enjoyed the sand and the ocean; although, Will was not a big fan of the waves. We really enjoyed our time together with family, as a family!

This is a little shoot of the boys FIRST encounter with the beach!

Dipping the toes in the water . . . inquisitive William and Hudson

And, about 3 seconds later, a sad William and an excited Hudson! Oh, how our babes are different!

The waves meant that William definitely had to have a much-needed snuggle time with his pops

. . . while Hudsey continued enjoying himself!

We took a few walks on the beach as a family, which were fun but HOT

Although we did take the boys to the beach for several hours each afternoon, we also spent some time on the shaded porch in the baby pool . . . which, they love!

Ha, Ha! William

Loving life at the beach!

We were able to visit with some family at the beach, and we even played "peep eye" with Great Great Aunt Monny!

We really enjoyed our time on the beach . . . snoozing, visiting, playing, and eating some sand!

And, while Will slept, Hud played!

Then brother joined in the fun!

Before leaving, we took our little family of four to the aquarium. We had a great time! The boys LOVED seeing the fish, the jelly fish, and the turtles!

Hudson tried to eat the eye off the turtle while William laughed with glee that we were at the aquarium!

yes, we are those people

This one is for Auntie Courtney who loves tree frogs!

I love this one!

Hudson, stop being so crabby!

It only took us 7 days to get the hang of life at the beach . . . I'm sure that next year will be a breeze with two 20 month olds! AHH!
