fwoggies

this week has been a doozie, to say the least . . . it has been a combination of stressful and difficult things involving my kids (mainly two blonde adorable little monsters who are 3 years old and living under my roof) and what feels like my inability to parent them!   we read a book about bert and ernie today, and at the end of the book, they reconciled and bert apologized to ernie for screaming at him . . . and, hudson, bless his heart, said “that’s like what happens at our house!”  so true, so true.  forgiveness is a wonderful thing all across the board.  these boys and their parents are learning to apologize more now than ever before . . . (and, yes, you can pray that all of the yelling in this house would cease!)

and, I am thinking that having our house on the market may just be the end of me!  whoo!  we are ready to move along . . . so, if you do happen to know someone looking for a cute casita in the northside, do let me know!  in the meantime, I’ll let this little froggie do our advertising for us!

IMG_9218

despite a tough morning this morning, heading outside and seeing this little bug was quite a treat!

IMG_3962

she’s not quite walking down stairs yet . . . but, she is certainly thinking about it!

IMG_7207

after our little bible study today (and sidenote:  instead of screaming and crying when I dropped her in the nursery, anna said “bye bye mommy” to me!  I wanted to shout from the rooftops!  Success!) we had a great playtime outside.  it was so fun and a major highlight of our day!

Sister was not sure of what to do at first . . . but she was certain that she was going to participate.

IMG_7044

. . . and, it didn’t take long before she figured it out!

IMG_0870

they were soaked when they got back in the car, and william had captured a worm from the bottom of the puddle too (dead and gross, but he was thrilled) . . . but it was so much fun!

IMG_9009

we ended up having two showings at the house today, so the babes napped at Sugie’s so I could clean and prep the casa . . . when we got home to pick them up, it was clear that Uncle Judah was up to his old tricks again!

Precious little loves!

And, my big ole boys!

we are all VERY thankful that tomorrow is FRIDAY!

Nighty night from our “fwogs” to yours!

baby craze! (and an overheard)

in case you missed it, aunt katie has a big ole baby in her tummy . . . and mr P is going to be a big ole brother!  and, well, everyone is quite thrilled!  and, we may or may not all be laying claim to this unborn child.  I have a few concerns about whether each one of my children thinks the baby may actually be theirs.  and, what I hate to have to tell them is that this baby is going to be MY BABY (as long as I can fight off Sugie, that is).  while we wait for our baby of Aunt Ka-tee and Uncle “betts” and Tar-Lee’s, Anna has kicked it up a notch in terms of loving her baby . . . she cries every day when we cannot carry the stroller and baby into the car with us, she cries and screams if I pick Baby up after she’s been slammed to the floor, she cries if I don’t pick Baby up fast enough, and it’s best that you never move Baby’s bottle (which is on loan from our sweet neighbor Lucy), bowl, bib, or spoon!  suffice it to say that we’re practicing around here . . .

with a kiss, an EEEEEEze (squeeze), and a rock rock, baby is ready for bed . . .

IMG_5640

but not without a rousing rendition of Twinkle, Twinkle first!

IMG_9464

and, Ni’ Night baby!

IMG_9516

And, I will leave you with the quote of the week (or, month, maybe?):

William to Aunt Katie (who was volunteering in his preschool class today.  This was during story time and in the very loud voice that only 3 year olds can muster):  AUNT KATIE, WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR CLOTHES OFF . . .

Katie, to William: Shhh!  William, let’s talk about this later.

William, to Aunt Katie (immediately after the book was finished being read—again, uncontrollably loud):  AUNT KATIE, WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR CLOTHES OFF, CAN YOU SEE THE BABY INSIDE OF YOUR TUMMY?

other gems include:

From William:  Aunt Katie, how does the baby eat?

And, again, from William:  Aunt Katie, where does the baby sleep when you sleep?  Do you smoosh the baby?  How does the baby sleep?

And, the all-time favorite:  Mommy, what TOOLS will the doctor use to get the baby out?

And, with that, a good night!

(And a warning:  Protect your babes.  Sugie is the all-time-original-baby-hog.  Aunt Katie and I follow closely in her footsteps, and I have a feeling Anna is not too far behind! . . . and maybe her brothers, too!)

catching up . . . bit by bit . . .

so, last week, we headed to one of our very favorite places . . . CHAR-LA-STIN!

(sidenote:  1)  Tiny John Lennon’s glasses are prescription.  Amazing, I know.  and 2) sister took a good ole nap in the car and then had a 60 minute bout of E-I-E-I-O obession-induced hysteria around 10pm.  It was ugly, but she screamingly E-I-E-I-O’d herself to sleep and never looked back . . . )

some of the littles slept on the way there . . .

w sleeping

and some did not (can you see the crazy in his eyes?)

IMG_4375

but, we made it, and we crashed at Un-tle’s house

IMG_7699

And then we hit un an Easter carnival, with a pony we had to ride but that left us simultaneously frozen in terror!

IMG_8046

And, we reminded Daddy that this is a working-vacation . . .

IMG_6668

and, finally, we all slept

IMG_8042

Shortly thereafter, we hit the beach!

IMG_2906

(have I ever mentioned how much I love having my babes on the beach?  oh, how I love it!)

IMG_0081

IMG_6050

Day 1 was action-packed and ended with a first date for Anna and handsome Gainsey-boy where they did what most loves do, they fed each other.  Meanwhile, the four parents tried to have a semblance of a conversation while dodging spilled drinks, sleep-deprived mania-melt-downs, and three 3 year olds and an almost 5 year old boy who were smashed between the grown-ups in a booth . . . it was wild, but, it was fun and we’d do it again in a heart-beat!

IMG_7612

the next day was Easter, and we had a great celebration . . . He has Risen, Indeed!

(“Uncle” Laura took this picture and it may be one of my very favorites of all time.  OH MY HEART!)

IMG_7118

I eventually put my phone down and forgot to charge my camera, so the next few days were a blur . . . but, one of the highlights was driving the trucks at Publix.  It’s the little things, people.

IMG_6075

sampling some shades

IMG_1201

And, in honor of our last day, I pulled out the ole camera phone once again.  It was a GORGEOUS day.  Something about being at the beach and watching these little ones play while relaxing in the sand is just so perfect to me.  Oh, I LOVE IT.

Our days at the beach were quite busy . . . or, rather, the little ones were quite busy.  I was not busy, and I loved that!

IMG_0804

there were naps on the beach (GLORIOUS!) and meals on the beach

IMG_3095

then sissy threw a hissy about her hat

IMG_7821

and tried to run away . . . (another of my all-time favorite pictures)

IMG_6015

but, we got her back . . . and we packed up all of our gear into the car just in time for another snooze . . .

IMG_3509

Upon arriving home, we were extremely efficient and completely unpacked our car, only to re-zip suitcases and re-load the car the next morning to show our house!  I drove our car around with 4 (unpacked) suitcases in it for 48 hours because we had three showings!  Exciting.  So, today, I decided we needed to get some things done.  And, we gave Annabug a “baff”

IMG_9351

and, my assistants “helped” me unpack . . . or, not.

IMG_7824

then the detective set up this scene while I was upstairs . . . (I love how this boy’s mind works!)

IMG_5296

Naps were had by all (hooray!) at Sugie’s, and when this boy woke up, I couldn’t believe my eyes . . . he is so big and his hair is curly . . . and he is mine.  How did my baby get so very big?

IMG_8664

And, this one, she has started to give “EEEEEs,” or squeezes . . . and they are snuggly and long, strong squeezes, and OH I LOVE IT!

IMG_3373

IMG_8871

more to come, more to come . . . but for now, nighty night!

in case you were wondering . . .

We’ve been busy . . .

working . . .  (she opened the laptop herself and I found her like this!  when I turned on my computer, it was literally talking to me.  I have no idea what she did, but I have never seen anything like it!)

r

stealing mommy’s water bottle (note the guilty look on her face!)

rr

checking out the stores for spring and summer gear . . . (while we thought these were very funny, we decided we may have better luck keeping a smaller pair on the tiny nose of the strong-wiled sister)

rrr

and, building important buildings, like this fancy cardboard parking garage . . . why build with clothes on?  clothes are so over-rated!

rrrr

nighty night from our buns to yours!

quickly . . .

I am one tired mama, but I have got to post a few pictures from the weekend of these rascals . . .

AnnaBug’s BFF, Miss Ash, came to keep our littles for a bit, and she snapped this sweet shot:

qqqqq

Saturday was a great day around here, so the boys and their Daddy took to the road.  I love the way H & W are looking at Hatch in this—so sweet!

qqqqqqq

Anna is into giving kisses . . . Woo’ Woo’ is one happy recipient, can you tell?

qqqqqq

Who says you can’t wear a smocked dress and your brother’s bike helmet while riding in the wago’?

qqqqqqqq

Sunday held an Easter Egg Hunt and lunch at church, and it was SO much fun!  William literally gasped when he opened one of his eggs and seven jelly beans fell out!  It was so fun!

qqqq

Mr. P joined us for the festivities.  After the egg hunt, he and Hudson drove the train to Costco.  Exciting times! ha!

qqqqqqqqq

And, our littlest bunny had a great ole time!  (Isn’t her outfit adorable?  All of their outfits are hand-me-downs from Auntie Brookie!  I love it!)

q

Getting in some time on Uncle J’s phone . . .

qqq

Happy Holy Week to you . . .
