To the office we go . . .

Due to all of the “working” on the deck and Daddy also “working” during the week, we’ve had to be more specific with the boys about where Daddy is working . . . they now know that most days, Daddy is at work at the office!  In late July we decided to take a life-lesson field trip so that the babies could see Daddy’s office (Daddy is a recruiter at People Solutions—need to hire someone for your company?!), and see where he works.  They had a great time, and I’m sure they interrupted everyone’s professional agendas due to their inability to control their sweet BIG voices!  Here they are:

Exploring the chair . . . (william did wear Hatch’s headset for about 10 seconds . . . hilarious!)

Hi.  I am Hudson.  How may I help you? IMG_5660

Several times a day, the boys will say to me “Bye Bye, Mommy”!  I always tell them “bye” and ask where they are going . . . William, without fail, is ALWAYS going to the office.  Then he mumbles something about Daddy.  Hudson’s trips vary depending on his day and mood, but William never diverges from his plan to go to the office!

Here the boys are getting read for a big trip . . . (please excuse the lack of pants on this child . . . you can chalk that up to mama being lazy)IMG_2192

William, going to the office . . .

Enjoying the ride!

IMG_2198

It’s all fun and games until someone gets hungry . . . here, Hudson is literally yelling “EAT!  EAAAAAAAT!”  :)  (More pictures from our dinner on the deck to come later)

IMG_2201

And, I somehow neglected to post these pictures.  The night before our beach trip, Baby Cousin Charlie came and stayed with us.  We decided to go on a walk with all of the boys (and my large pregnant self) to see if we could make strangers think we were crazy people . . . 3 boys and one on the way!?!

IMG_5674

We had a great time!  Baby Charlie is especially fond of his Uncle Hatch!

IMG_5676

And, who wouldn’t be fond of Hatch if you can just snooze right on him while he walks you around?

IMG_5679

So sweet!  I just love this baby!

More to come . . .

Big Time: Big Boys in a New Room!

This weekend was our big weekend for moving the boys into their new, big boy room!  In reality, I think that this is Big Boy Room Version 1.  Big Boy Room Version 2 will come later . . . once the monkeys have decided to hurdle out of their beds.  For now, we love containment and we discourage that kind of independence!  Before we entered into the Big Boy Room, we had to say our farewells to the nursery!

 IMG_2255  IMG_2272

This picture is one of my favorites, because it is a “life as we know it” shot . . . this was always our view of their room when we first opened the nursery door in the morning, when one of us would try to shower while the monkeys were awake, or when we would be walking down the hallway . . . they were perfectly positioned to peer out the door and hollar down the hall at us!   IMG_2289

BIG boy on his changing table . . . (which, by the way, is a pregnant woman’s best friend!  No one can kick me in the stomach if they are laying in front of me on a changing table!) IMG_2298

In the last 3 weeks or so, the boys have asked to be rocked after their naps and before bed.  It is so sweet . . . I just love it.  “Rock, rock, Mommy.  Rock, rock!” IMG_2307

IMG_2313

For anyone who may be moving their children to a Big Boy Room while pregnant, my advice to you is this:  Do it in your 2nd trimester when you have loads of energy and are not a crazy ball of emotions!  Moving the boys has been such an emotional thing for me, but we are THRILLED to have them in their new room!  Hatch did an amazing job pulling everything together this weekend.  (As you know, I do a lot of pointing and brainstorming and less of the actual “working.”  :)

And, now PRESENTING . . .

IMG_6089

IMG_6088

Don’t let their smiles fool you!  While the boys do love the extra space in their room to “pway” (play) and spin, there here have been many tears in this new room, mainly from Mr. Hudson.  Sleeping in a new place is hard on that little man!  After a rough night last night and a wild nap-less afternoon for all of us, we have HIGH hopes for tonight!

William, on the other hand, had the following conversation with me today:

me:  William, do you love your new room?

W:  yessssssssssss.

me:  What do you love about it?

W:  New room.  New bed.  (not a new bed, but okay!)  Paci.  Lovie.  Christopher.

me:  You mean, Zebra Christopher*?

W:  yessssssssss.

(*Zebra Christopher is the zebra that Unkie brought back from his trip to Africa.  We’re not huge on stuffed animals around here, but this one is a favorite . . . it lives in W’s bed along with the purple pool-toy octopus that Lawaaaaaaa gave him!)

The view from the door, Take 1:  (I had to put their baby pictures and toes up on the wall . . . I could not help myself!  Really, I hung one.  Hatch hung two.  I helped . . . sort of!)

IMG_6092 Come and see us!  Nighty Night!

. . . Now, onto the nursery for Baby Anna, who is likely to be here in about 7 weeks (AHH!) . . .

Adventures with Judah and . . .

things I don’t want to forget . . .

Last week, we ventured on over to the new Children’s Museum, and we had a great time!

They have a safari train that makes really loud animal noises, and William was simultaneously fascinated and terrified.  This is how he spent the first fifteen minutes at the museum:  (please excuse the belly!)

IMG_6060

We are huge fans of picking “apples” IMG_6061 IMG_6063

The BIG boat was also a hit . . .  IMG_6064 IMG_6065

As was the pebble sandbox IMG_6067

That said, I think our favorite thing was the water table!

IMG_6070

 IMG_6073

And, riding the whale . . . Hudson was especially excited because he had a whale on his shirt that day!

 IMG_6079

William, on the other hand, was a little more hesitant . . .

  IMG_6082

And, we have big news . . . we now have two children . . . one named “Hudsey” (as we all know) and one named “We-Mum”!  William has called himself We-Mum about 4 times now!  It is so cute!

We have had lots of visit from our baby Charlie, and we have loved it.  These cousins adore each other, and it is so fun to see!  Here We-Mum and Hudsey help Char-dee find his keys . . .

IMG_6084

We-Mum is very big, loves to “rock rock” babies, and is ready to take his Char-dee on a trip.  Bye bye!  (Doesn’t Mr. Precious look thrilled about this?)

IMG_6083

Switching gears, I have to write down some things that I don’t want to forget!

  • When Hudson falls or trips, he says “Oh, Doodle!”  He slipped in the outdoor shower at the beach and we said “WHOOPSIE DOODLE!” and “oh doodle!” has stuck!
  • William, when he sees something awry, he says “Oh Goodness!”
  • Both boys are starting to struggle more with hitting, throwing, and dumping (mainly their food) . . . they often narrate what the other is doing or announce what they are going to do before they do it . . . and they will say “No” but do it anyway . . . fun times!
  • Baby Alice (who is a few weeks old) has been at our bible study for the last few weeks, and they LOVE seeing her and rocking her in her carrier . . . they both need MANY reminders not to touch her . . . but, it is quite cute!
  • these turkeys are obsessed with bubbles, stickers, crayons (“no mouth!”), and balls . . . we are so busy around here!

okay!  more later!

Beach Babies 2010: Part IV

So, there are a lot of parts to our beach babies series . . .  What can I say?  We had a blast at the beach!

There were LOTS of fun people there to play with us, and lots of craziness to be had!

Lots of people on the beach (this is a smaller crowd pictured below) . . . IMG_5820

Lots of people at meals (please note the 3 boys in high chairs PLUS the toddler standing at the table . . .)

(Tired) fun with Uncle Christopher!   IMG_6028 IMG_6030

And, Hudsey brought his girlfriend, Lawwaaa (aka: Laura) to the beach this year, which was VERY fun.  He is quite fond of her and even gets shy around her, which is hilarious!

IMG_5862

Our last days on the beach we really fun due to some crazy weather and tides . . .  IMG_5923

Our most serious digger . . .  IMG_5924 IMG_5925

Fun with Daddy!

 IMG_5972 IMG_5977

“So, Daddy, you mean to tell me there is a giant pool of water in the middle of the sand?  But, HOW?” IMG_5978

Oh, Uncle Christopher!  He was a BIG hit among the little monkeys while we were at the beach!  The boys LOVED playing with him!  Everytime Hudson would douse Christopher with water, he would yell “MORE!  MORE!!”  Since we have been home, they have asked if they would get to see Christopher and Laura at least once a week . . . William asked me the other morning:   “Crifufer coming?!?!  Lawa coming?”  So sweet! IMG_5995 IMG_5996

H is quite proud of his pouring water on Uncle C! IMG_6002 IMG_6004

The sleepiest beach baby!  (We can all hope that Anna will love doing this next summer!) IMG_6006
