The Twelve Days of Christmas 2010: Decorating & Christmas Morning

We would like for you to meet the sixth official member of our family:  “Tiny Man.”  William discovered “Tiny Man” as we were getting out our tree decorations, and “Tiny Man” went everywhere with William from that point on-ward.  We would look for, trip over, and cry about TM “losing an arm” because Daddy stepped on him on any given day of December.  Now, at the age of three, William will tell you “I like tiny things.”  Back when these pictures were taken, we had a hunch that “tiny things” were quite popular to our tiny man . . . so, without further ado, behold the beauty that is “TINY MAN.”  (PS:  He currently resides in a ziplock bag in our basement.  Shhh.  Don’t tell.)

Our Christmas tree was really special and very Charlie Brown like.  I loved it!

Guess who put the tiny angel in my cupcake display?

Holding babies on Christmas Day is my all-time favorite thing to do.  There is something about celebrating the Birth of Jesus and holding a tiny baby in your arms that increases the wonder and miracle of the birth of our Savior.  It is such a sweet thing—I just love it!  Here, Sister is posing with her adorable stocking that her Nana hand-knit especially for her!

The boys woke up excited for Christmas, but without really knowing what that meant . . .

There was lots of anticipation . . .

And, celebrating Jesus’ birth was so much fun! IMG_1932IMG_1927
The boys had made these adorable manger scenes in their Wellsquirts program—we love them!

It was very fun to watch them open their little gifts . . .

“snow ball” was a big hit from the boys’ stockings . . .

The 12 Days of Christmas 2010: Christmas Eve

I have to admit that I am doing this next series of posts mainly for myself . . . and, well, for Anna.  You see, the Christmas of 2010 was her first Christmas, and while it was well documented on my camera, the pictures never made it into a post in a timely fashion.  So, bear with me as we flash back to Christmas 2010 for the next several posts!
Hatch and our tiny elves went to deliver a Christmas treat or two to our neighbors on Christmas Eve.  The elves were especially excited about this!

We arrived frazzled and late (but we did arrive!) to our church’s children’s Christmas Eve Service.  It was great to be there together, and then we headed to Sugie’s for our annual Christmas Eve dinner and celebration!

Look at this cute thing!  He had a great ole time!
IMG_1732
Unkie Chrisferfer did what we call “The Santa Box.”  Our Paps used to do it for us, and Christopher brought back the tradition.  It’s a Christmas box grab-bag of sorts, and it is always hilarious and so much fun! IMG_1761
Who would like this amazing set of tupperware for Christmas this year?  Anyone?  ANYONE?!
   IMG_1785-1
I love this one!

And, this face just says it all to me!  The joy and love and hilarity of being a Murphy on Christmas Eve!  This may be one of my favorite pictures of 2010!

And, William joined in on the fun, too!

These boys love being with their big cousins and Uncle Judah!

merry merry once again!

One of the things I loved most about this holiday was that Hatch was home for so many days in a row!  He was able to take off of work between Christmas and New Year’s, and it was a treat for us all.  Anna spiked a fever Christmas night and was sick with a virus and ear infection for several days, so we laid low for a while (and I was extra thankful Hatch was around!)  Towards the end of the week, we did our annual family visit to see the fun Christmas decorations at The Jefferson Hotel.
Hudson is performing a rousing rendition of Little Drummer Boy for the bell hop!
IMG_1053
And, no visit to The Jefferson is complete with out a chat with the alligator!
IMG_1055
The enormous ginger bread house was a huge hit among the tiny people!
IMG_1060
It took William a while to take it all in . . . an ENTIRE house made of CANDY.  It’s like his dream come true!
IMG_1062
Mommy and Anna loved looking at all of the ornaments on the big tree . . .
IMG_1073
And, we headed up to Maryland for our Reppard Christmas celebration!
Somehow, we lost Hudson after getting there . . .
IMG_1081
But, we found him again!
IMG_1084
the boys loved their time with their GiGi!
IMG_1093IMG_1108
And, sister had a blast scooting all around!
IMG_1099
Hudson loved helping to hand out gifts!

I know this is blurry, but I adore this picture . . . and, well, she is always on the move . . .

IMG_1110IMG_1111
Thank you, GiGi!  A book that sings to me!
IMG_1112
So sweet!
IMG_1117
GiGi’s books were a big hit all around . . . and they had to be read immediately!  She knows her audience well!
IMG_1124IMG_1128IMG_1135
And . . . Daddy got a big lawn tool for Christmas!  Ohhh how fun!
IMG_1153
Sister thought it was nice, too!
IMG_1162
We had some special guests round out our Christmas visit  . . .

Fire Chief Hudson

Fire Chief William

And, “Sweedish Chef” Hudson . . .

We had such a wonderful Christmas with our family!  It is such a blessing to be able to celebrate together!  Maybe our new chef will bake something special next Christmas . . .
