Anna Bug is 4 Months Old!

Anna Bug Banana Bug is 4 Months Old!  {Actually, she is a bit older, but we just went to the doctor and got her stats!}  Little Miss remains in the 75% for height at 25 and 1/4 inches and 75% for weight at 15lbs 3 ounces . . . she falls right in the middle between where Hudson {16lbs, 11oz} and William {14lbs, 8oz} were at 4 Months!   And, the doctor laughed telling me that Anna’s head is 95%—she said that she has a hunch she gets her head size from Hudson!  ha ha!

Anna is an absolute doll baby!  She is just so sweet and growing so quickly!  She really has grown up so much in the last month.  Little Miss has found her hands, and she thinks her fingers are quite tasty.  She is certain they are made of sugar, and if she’d have her way, she’d suck her first and second finger instead of her paci anytime!  {Her mother, however, tries to push the paci . . . we’ll see who is more determined!}

Anna is extremely ticklish!  She giggles and laughs every time we change her clothes, and she often breaks into laughter when we sing to her {not a good sign about our singing!}, dance, and tell her we are going to “get her.”  She is such a happy baby!

Little Miss continues to work on her vocals with adding squealing, screaming, and squawking to her loud coos and sounds.  She is quite loud, but very sweet!  We have a hunch that she will be able to project her high-pitched noises over her brothers’ voices for years to come!

Our Little Lady is starting to be able to sit better when propped up, and she often pulls her head forward—trying to sit on her own—to watch her brothers in action.  One of our most recent problems is that Anna refuses to eat if anything remotely exciting is going on around her!  She wants to be a part of the action, of course!  

She is an extremely sweet, laid back, and easy baby.  Although, when she gets really hungry or really tired, we do tend to have a moment or two like this . . . 

This month Anna Bug started sleeping in her crib at night and taking afternoon naps in her bed {she was getting wedged in her bassinette, that big ole baby!  and, for now, she sleeps on-the-go in the morning . . . we’ll see how long that lasts!}  At first, Anna was waking up a lot in her crib due to using her stinger and throwing herself around the bed, so now we have her wedged in the corner with a rolled up blankie and she is much happier.  Meanwhile, her brother’s toes stick out of his mini-crib . . . Oh, life as a princess!  The last two days, she has taken a 3 hour afternoon nap!  Having all three of these chickens napping at the same time seems like an aligning of the stars—it is nice!  She is still working on staying in her bed all night long.  Most mornings, by 5 or 6, she is back in her bassinette or snuggled in our bed, which I don’t mind so much . . . {although, yesterday, she lasted until 7!}

She has become quite a trooper in her car seat—being toted around to preschool, church, the grocery, the park, etc.  She gets mad when she gets sweaty, but what lady wouldn’t be upset by having a sweaty little head?

Anna’s eyelashes are growing and growing—they are so beautiful!  And, her hair is falling out and growing in simultaneously!  The jury is still out as to whether she will have really blonde hair like William or be more strawberry, like Hudson.  It will be fun to see!

We pulled out the Bumbo seat this month, and it has been a huge hit.  She loves to sit up and watch her brothers play!  And, she drools up a storm while doing it—bibs are no match for this little lovebug!

And, Anna is learning to love to exercise and play on her play mat!  She screams and squeals at her animal pals while she swats at them.  It is so funny to watch!

This past Saturday {march 5, for my records} Anna rolled from her tummy to her back!  And, yes, I MISSED IT.  The conversation when something like this:

me:  Hatch!  Look at her—I think she is going to roll!  Is she going to roll?  What do you think?

him:  No, no way.  She isn’t even rocking at all.  Go and get ready.  She isn’t going to roll.

3 minutes later

Hudson:  Daddy!  Anna turn over!

him:  Welllllllll, for the record, I missed it too:  Anna rolled.  Or, Hudson flipped her over, and I missed it.  I’m pretty sure she rolled though.

Classic!

Here she was trying to get onto her tummy from her back—she hasn’t done it yet, but she is oh-so-close! And, she has officially found her tootsies and her chubby legs—she has little scratches on her legs from trying to grab them!

And, don’t you just hate it when your toes get stuck in your ducky?  Check out those thighs!  Oh, I love it!  The ducky is one of her very favorite friends to squeal at and swat!

Ever since she was teensy, Anna has loved grabbing onto my necklace or shirt and holding on tight.  She is such a snuggler, and I just love it!

I can’t believe that rolling and sitting and eating baby food is in the months to come! Oh, my love is growing so fast!  And, we are doing our best to soak up every minute of it!  OH, MY HEART!

TROUBLE

Captian Rascal greeted us on Saturday morning like this . . . Welcome to the weekend!

A few things to note about this picture:

1.  He is sitting on the wooden board that holds his crib together—he had propped his mattress up to the side of the crib.  Wonderful.

2.  His diaper is completely undone and completely . . . well, let’s say FULL.  I think it was God’s mercy that we walked into the room when we did!

3.  Him sticking out his tongue was completely unprompted.

I have a feeling we are in for it with this boy!

Sleep has been a little hard to come by this week, for some reason.  The boys have been up a lot in the night and so has Little Miss {who is still battling congestion and, who we’ve discovered, is a sleeping acrobat!  we swaddle her all up to sleep at night, and we’ve noticed that she raises her stinger {legs} and throws it all around—we find her having moved 90 degrees to 180 degrees in the night!  whoo!}.  Today, we all woke early but all went back to sleep {minus Hatch—sorry love!} before starting the day.  Little Miss snuggled with her mama after having her breakfast, and I woke to find her like this . . . OH, MY HEART!

Anna Kathryn is practicing her head control after some inspiration from a South Carolina girlfriend, and Mr. William was helping her play with her bunny and “chatting” with her this morning while I got Hudson dressed.  It was just so sweet!

While I got William ready for the day, Hudson got straight to work.  “Workin’ Workin’ . . . door broken . . . workin’ workin’!”

Little Miss and I took advantage of one of our favorite people, Miss Steph, and while she played with the boys in the yard, we hit up the grocery.  You see, Nonna and Pop Pop come tomorrow, and we wanted to be sure that we had plenty of caffeine for them!  So, with our Diet Pepsi in hand, we are READY!

Just for Fun {Catching Up!}

We had a wild summer-like day a few weeks ago, and the boys had a blast playing on “Daddy’s deck” {which they will proudly claim to have helped build;  and, as a sidenote, they also think that everyone goes to the office to build decks all day . . . hmmm!} and playing in the yard.  It had been such a long time since we’d been out there that our toys seemed almost new!

Excitement abounds!  I think I had cut their hair the night before, too, so you can get a good look at what their hair looked like before it grew out again . . .

Did you know we love to dig?  We also love to play “Where’s me?”  and “Me’s Hiding!”  Usually when we play these games, we play them inside; and, usually, I am informed that we are playing, not asked.  Favorite hiding places include the boys’ closet; although, today, I found Hudson inside of my laundry basket in my closet!  “Where’s Me?” is also a big hit in the car—they hide behind their chubby fingers!  I love it!  Another favorite playtime game is “Me Brooming”  {ie:  sweeping!}  Despite the fact that we have multiple brooms, they both want the same one, so we use a handy timer to determine who gets to “broom” and for how long.  The rascals are very into making food right now, too.  They are quite hospitable and happy to share a {pretend} bowl of fruit, slice of apple pie, or cup of water {their kitchen only serves water, for some reason} with any guest, and they will remind you it’s “pretend” before you take a bite. So sweet!

They recently started pushing their trucks around, like this.  It is so fun to watch them play and find new ways to use their toys!

A little help moving along . . .

Cousin Christy came by and helped us take a stroll one day.  The boys really love being with “Cricky!”

Oh, my snuggle bug!  

Trucks {diggers and dumpers, to be exact} play a serious role in our lives right now.  One cold day, we went for a drive to see the ducks and geese at the lake at a nearby park—we didn’t even get out of the car!  Later that week, we drove by to watch the men at work.  When the boys see them, the scream “Men WORKING!”  We’re learning that even diggers and dumpers take a break for lunch and take “naps” . . . Diggers Go to Lunch will be the first book in my line of children’s books.  The boys looking on . . .

Ah, BIG DIGGER!  Yes, I am that mother that drives around the city looking for diggers and dumpers.  They BEG ME to do it.  Fortunately for us, this digger is only a block away from my parents’ house working on a big ole project!

Before the stomach bug hit, we had a great trip to a park fairly close to our house . . . a recent discovery!

It was cold and windy, but they loved playing anyway!
