Hudson and Will's first set of boy/boy twin friends, John and Warren, were born last week to our friends Mary Elizabeth (who went to UVA with us) and Meade Stone! John and Warren are beautiful identical twins who after a healthy arrival were sent to the NICU for some breathing problems and seizures. They are looking into possible metabolic/genetic diseases that the boys may have . . . please join our family in praying for Jesus to heal John and Warren; for Jesus to give peace and strength and rest to Mary Elizabeth and Meade; and, for wisdom for the doctors and team caring for this family.
You can visit John and Warren's Caring Bridge site for updates and for more information on how to pray for them by clicking here.
Many of you were such faithful partners in prayer for our family, and we are so grateful for that. Please join us in praying for our friends!

To each his own!
We are beginning to notice the little changes in each of the boys. Here are some things we are seeing . . .
Hudson's hair is remarkably strawberry! We're not sure where the red locks came from, but he sure looks sweet!

Will's eyelashes have sprouted overnight! Seems like he has his dad's and grandfather's long lashes! (He also has somewhat of a black eye!)

I thought this picture of the boys sleeping in their crib was cute. Will loves having his arms and hands up when he sleeps, and Hudson is more all-over-the-place (like his mom!)

One Month Check up! January 14, 2009
The boys had their one month check up this week (even though they are 6 weeks old!) The doctor said that both boys' lungs sound great and they are recovering well from RSV, which is great news! She also said that they are doing well and gaining weight well despite their being sick. Here are some pictures from that day:
Hudson weighs 8lbs 14 oz (he was 6lbs 12oz at birth) and is 22 inches long (19.5in. at birth)!
Will weighs 8lbs even (he was 5lbs 11 oz at birth) and is 20.5 inches long (he was 19 in. at birth)!
All bundled up for the cold . . . Hudson and Will . . .

Pre-sickeness Pictures
Here are a few pictures of the boys from before they got sick . . . enjoy!
Our friends Mary DuPre, Rush-Baker, and Watson came to visit the boys from Greenville, SC!

We took the boys to see the life-sized ginger bread house at the Jefferson Hotel . . . yum.

Allison Hudson (with Hudson) came in from NYC and Mary Andrews Liles (with Will) came from Alabama to meet the boys!

home, sweet home!
We are so grateful to God that Hudson was discharged from the hospital yesterday, and we are happily back home. It has been a wild ride for us being in the hospital for the last two weeks. We are tremendously thankful for the help and support of our family and friends . . . Shannon's parents kept the "healthy" baby, our good friend Allison, sister Katie, her boyfriend Brett, and our Aunt Beth bleached our entire home, our faithful neighbors kept the dog and cared for our home while we were away, friends from church provided meals, and it turns out that our friend Danny was one of the boys' pediatricians and Hatch's uncle Tom had his respiratory crew taking great care of us all. Thank you for your prayers and support of our family. When we were told "it takes a village," we had no idea how many people would be a part of our little village. :) Please continue to pray for complete healing for our little ones as they recover from rsv (click here for a link to info on rsv) and please pray that they are able to ward off any other cold/flu illnesses that are floating around.

Initiation to parenting . . . January 8, 2009
Mant of you know that we spent last week at the hospital with little William as he had gotten a respiratory virus, rsv. RSV is extremely contagious, and we ended up back in the hospital with Hudson on Monday, just two days after being discharged with Will! Hudson is still at the hospital, although we hope to head home with him tomorrow, Friday. Please pray for Hudson to be able to stay off oxygen and for complete healing and recovery for him and Will. Shannon's parents have kept the "healthy" baby while Shannon has been at the hospital and Hatch has been back and forth to work . . .pray for rest for us all. We hope to send more of an update from home soon!
