da DA! And his dream come true!

Before I start this post about “da DA!,” I have to say two things:

First, our computer caught a virus and has been out of commission . . . so, my apologies for the late post this week!  Second, I need to ask you to pray for William and our little family . . . William got sick to his stomach three times before bed (which is the first time he has ever gotten sick like that) and I am DREADING that we may have the horrid stomach bug that keeps making its way around Richmond . . . we need your prayers!

Prior to the sickness, we had a great time as a family playing outside tonight.  Hatch has always dreamed of towing his little monkeys behind him on his bike, and a generous co-worker of his just handed down this fun bike cart (I have no clue what you call these things), so the boys took it for a spin tonight!

Getting ready for the ride: (you can tell that Hudson is pumped up!)IMG_9350

Ready to ride! IMG_9356

And, they are off!

 IMG_9358

Looking good, boys!  (And, yes, I love that my husband is wearing black socks with Crocs.  He is a trend setter!) IMG_9362

I love this one of William peeking through the side!IMG_9364

The babies weren’t to sure of what to think of the ride.  No tears, but no overwhelming excitement either . . . I think they were taking it all in! (and, maybe feeling puny without us even knowing it?)IMG_9366

I must also tell you that “da DA!’s” name is repeated over and over and over and OVER all day long.  (There are a lot of Ju-Dah!s thrown in there too, with an occasional No-nna and Bum-pa!)  But, “da DA!” is on the hot list, for sure.  William calls for his dad from the moment he wakes up until he goes to bed at night.  da Da coming home from work is, without a doubt, the highlight of everyone’s day, but William MUST immediately be in his father’s arms, or the world is just not right.  I took the boys to Bible Study yesterday, and William was not too happy . . . when I came up to the nursery, he was screaming “da DA!  da DA!”  I think that he thinks that if he calls loudly enough, Hatch will come . . . and, if he could, I know that Hatch would come!  It is so cute.  Although, I do often remind them of my name . . . MA MA!

While the boys were riding, I was trying to figure out why I have two identical plants beside each other and one looks like this all over:IMG_9382

While the other looks like this all over . . . Grandma, any tips here?

The boys discovered our one daffodil in our yard (lovely, I know—one flower!)

Sniff, sniff!  (we are working on sniffing!) IMG_9388

Today!

Today was a big day for us.  I signed up the boys for “school” for the fall . . . technically, it is called Mother’s Morning Out {and have a morning out, I will!}  I visited the preschool today, and it is adorable.  They have an art room with easels for each child, and although the boys won’t do art in there until they are older (2!), I did almost burst into tears when the director told me that they will do art in their classroom!  Do art!?  They will LOVE that!  Oh, my babies!  They will LOVE school!  And, rumor has it that one of their best girls and best guy friends will be in their class!  Yippee!!

Uncle Judah had a half day at school today, so we had the pleasure of playing with him this afternoon!  We love him—Judah is VERY fun, and we are lucky to call him OUR uncle!  :)

The Cozy Coupe is quite popular, so Judah was teaching the boys to share/multi-task!

It seems that Judah and Hudson may have lost something . . .

IMG_9323

Hudson is ALL boy.  Playtime outside has recently involved me teaching Hudson to throw dirt/bark instead of eat it!

William loves to go bye-bye in the car!  {Uncle J did a great job pushing!}

Look at my tiny stick!

Vroom, Vroom!

 IMG_9280

Hudson also enjoys finding the tiny holes in the sidewalk and cramming his tiny, chubby fingers into the dirt!

IMG_9248

Hudson loves to go walking by himself . . .

IMG_9242

Can you see the massive stick in his hand?

IMG_9264

This boy loves his sticks . . .

 IMG_9282 IMG_9284 IMG_9288

Please notice that Hudson is pointing at his stick . . . the boys are very into pointing at things these days.  I’m not always sure what it means, but it is quite cute!  {Tonight Hudson pointed to me, and I pointed back, and then I smooched him and he gave me two big kisses—it was so cute!}  IMG_9293

Sweet William’s graceful exit . . .   IMG_9300 IMG_9301

I love this sweet boy!

 IMG_9302 IMG_9309

These have sprung up in our yard, and every time I see them, I smile and get very excited about spring.  I am also secretly wondering how long it will take for the boys to realize they can pluck them out of the ground . . . hmmm! IMG_9312

Visiting!

We did our fair share of visiting over the weekend!  I’m sad to say that we did not get pictures {or, at least, I did not get them on my camera} with Nonna and Grandpa while in Annapolis, but we DID get pictures with GiGi and all of her grans and great-grans!

I adore this picture because Sweet William {Jeffrey} is looking at his cousin Jeffrey {Both of whom are named after GiGi:  Margaret Jeffrey!}

IMG_9168

GiGi with baby Rhyan, Maggie with William and Jeffrey doing a fantastic job of wrangling Hudson!

We often go to Annapolis to see Nonna and Grandpa.  While we were glad to see them, our true motive was to meet our baby cousin Rhyan.  She has the chubbiest of cheeks and we could not WAIT to get our hands on her!  {William was limited to only touching her feet or shoes!}

IMG_9203

On Sunday, we left Annapolis and headed to DC to visit our friend, Mark, before he leaves for his post in Kyrgyzstan.  Unfortunately, I was so focused on trying to correctly pronounce the name of the country, I did not take a single picture!  Boo!

From DC, we headed back to Richmond and we were able to sneak in a visit with Uncle Christopher before he headed back home to Charleston.  It was very fun seeing him, and we think he is quite impressed with the babies’ very loud eating/yelling/throwing skills! {We are really trying to work on our table manners!}

IMG_9213

IMG_9223

This last one is hilarious to me because Christopher is clearly laughing hysterically—at my dad and Hatch who are acting like fools in order to get the stoic babies to laugh.  One out of three isn’t bad, I guess!

Catching up . . . books and baby

We have been busy over the last few days, despite the fact that two little people have been feeling like this:

IMG_9126

These boys, who love their books, have enjoyed some evening time with their daddy!

{Disclaimer:  Due to the fact that I spend my days chasing these sweet little monkeys, I rarely have an extra hand for the camera until Daddy gets home.  SO, I would just like to say the following:  1)  Yes, I dress my children each day . . . EXAMPLE:

 IMG_9132

and, 2) there are many pictures of them in diapers because changing them into pjs time is my golden opportunity to snap a picture or two {as Hatch is around to wrangle if needed!}}

Who says you can’t read two books at once?

IMG_9100IMG_9102

One of our favorite books is a lift-the-flap book that asks “Where is baby’s belly button?” . . . as a result of our very frequent reading {very, very frequent!} of this book, Hudson now searches for his belly button!

IMG_9107

Daddy often helps him find it . . .

IMG_9106

William continues sporting his wild hair

IMG_9109

And, Will’s love for Pottery Barn catalogues continues {he actually picked up the catalogue and brought it to Hatch to read!  hilarious!}

IMG_9111

On Thursday, we got a good run for our money, and I babysat my boys and our baby, Charlie for about an hour before reinforcements came to help!

My plan:  {note:  my plan did not work—I am not that strong!}

IMG_9119

I did carry Charlie around for a bit, but William {who is often green with envy} needed to be right there with us . . .

IMG_9154 IMG_9137

Before Charlie headed back to San Fran, we got in some great snuggle time!

IMG_9024IMG_9088

That Charlie LOVES his mama!

IMG_9047IMG_9077

Twice now, William has looked at me and said “baby?”  Like:  “Where is my baby Charlie?”  We LOVE you, baby Charlie, and we cannot wait to see you soon!!

{We love you too, Aunt Katie and Unkie Brett!}
