Anticipation

These were taken on our favorite day of the week, {last} Friday, at our favorite time of day {daddy’s home!}  I thought they were adorable!

Last Thursday, we had a guest come for the afternoon.  It was our best friend Grayson.  It was a babysitting play-date of sorts, and it was so fun to watch the boys play together!

This weekend, Hudson tested out some hummus and asked for more . . .

And, William helped Daddy with the dust busting . . .

Sometimes, after naps, we have crazy baby hairs.  Check these out!

BOYS

So, I know that I have said this before, but I will say it again:  my sweet babies are turning into little boys . . . and they are doing it right in front of my eyes!

Here are a few examples of the boy-ness:

1.  Today:  When walking to the car, (I was strapping William in his seat), Hudson picked up a stick and began to chew on it.   . . . And, later today, the boys crashed into each other and bonked heads.  No one cried.  (I was astonished!  I would have cried, for sure.)

2.  Tuesday:  William fell at the playground (it was my fault, and I felt horrible) and has a sizeable, purple goose-egg on his sweet little forehead!  . . . Later that day, William bit his tongue so badly that it bled and bled and is now bruised, but he cried for approximately 9 seconds.  (I would have cried.  And cried.  And cried!)  . . . AND, Hudson tried to eat a rock.  YUM.

Also on Tuesday, we went to the park this week with our friends Lacy (the mama) and her babes, Max and Neveah.  We had a blast!  While we were chasing and playing with babies, we turned around to find that Hudson had eaten mud . . . it was caked in his chubby cheeks, smashed into his teeth, and covering his tongue {GROSS!!!}

We love playing with Neveah because she is so sweet and so girly.  She did a great job of showing my boys the ropes in the tunnel:

The boys had LOTS of fun:

Check out more of our park pics on Lacy’s blog!

We also had a birthday party this week for some friends who turned 2 (3 of them!!).  It was QUITE fun.  The boys loved being there, and it was great to see them playing and running around with the “big kids!”

William was in awe of all of the fun

Hudson LOVED the bubble machine!

These last pictures are from today (post stick-eating).  It was FRIGID and super-windy outside, but they were having a blast.  When I made them come inside, Hudson cried hysterically.  We Reppards have a lot of passion . . . I may be in trouble as these boys grow and don’t get what they want!  Oh MY!

Little Men on a Mission!

This is how our morning went after breakfast:

Hudson:  walks over to chair and grabs the coat that Nonna made him, and he hands it to me

Me: “Hudson, do you want to put on your coat?”

Hudson:  sticks out his arm to put on his sleeve

William:  follows suit and once he had his coat on, he walked to front door and banged on it!

I suddenly realized that the boys are learning to communicate . . . and communicate well!  It was so fun to see.  So, we took ourselves a little stroll down the sidewalk (stopping to pick up teeny pinecones and attempt to eat them) . . .

 IMG_8467

They used the walkers until they hit a break in the sidewalk, and then the boys jump ship!

One man down . . . one breaking free! IMG_8472

And, then we hit the swings before our morning snooze!

I have a feeling that my figuring out what they want to do {and when} is just beginning . . .

Wednesdays

{yes, I realize that today is Friday, but I have been meaning to post this since Wednesday . . . such is my life!}

Wednesdays are a lot of fun around here for our little Reppard Crew, because mommy goes to her new, temporary part-time job at the church, and the babies get to spend the day with their Sugie!

As you know, I was on staff at the church prior to having the boys, and I was so, so sad to leave my job.  This go-round, I am temporarily helping with some admin work, and I am loving it.  One of the things that I have been helping with {ie: editing} is our church’s Lenten Readings/Devotional.  Since Wednesday officially began the Lenten Season, the daily devotional is in full swing.  It includes a great quote as well as coordinating scripture for each day that remind us of our sin and our need for a Savior while helping us focus on Lent--this season of Repentance.  There is also a fantastic little article about Lent—what it is, what it means (more than giving up chocolate, perhaps?!), and why we celebrate Lent at the end of the devotional.  You can find and download the devotional here . . . just click on the link that says 2010 Lenten Readings . . . enjoy!

Last Wednesday we had another heap of snow, so much to the babies’ excitement, Uncle Judah {didn’t have school and} joined Sugie to babysit!  {Thank you, Sugie, for these lovely camera-phone pics!}

Who says you can’t sit in the basket with the books while you’re reading?

Lately . . .

We had a great Valentine’s Day weekend!  We spent Saturday in Staunton visiting Aunt Courtney!  They boys had a blast, and we loved seeing her stomping ground!

IMG_4576

Hudson wanted to be sure that we told you that he hopes everyone had a very tasty Valentine’s Day!  He sure did!

  IMG_8230

One of my Valentines has had a kissing hiatus, and has recently come back into the swing of smooching {and I am so glad!}  The other little Valentine of mine, when asked if he will give a kiss says “No, NO, NOOO!”  Oh, that baby!

IMG_8368

IMG_8364

Hudson is really into taking charge and heading outside . . . he likes to give it his best shot, but {thank the Lord} he has not yet succeeded out on his own!

 IMG_8233 IMG_8240 IMG_8243

Our little man in action while holding a book!  He is really steady!  {Most of the time!}

 IMG_8248 IMG_8251

We have our Christmas cards in a huge bowl on our table by the front door, and the babes love to steal the Christmas cards all day long.  William was especially proud to show Daddy his treasure: IMG_8264

Getting our diapers and wipes re-stocked always provides for loads of fun around here!  Hudson loves carrying things around the house, and it is so funny because he grunts while doing it!  What a hoot!  {This morning, he brought me his bath seat from the bathroom into the nursery.  He wants to be sure that I have whatever I need, whenever I need it, I think.)

IMG_8267

Just imagine the grunting that accompanies this first picture!

 IMG_8282 IMG_8284 IMG_8285 IMG_8291

Pushing brother in the box!

 IMG_8300 IMG_8303

Then, we had some baby box races.  Hatch and I had fun, but the boys didn’t love it as much as we did!

 IMG_8313 IMG_8319 IMG_8325

We ended our evening circus with some head stands.  The boys have been doing a tripod and putting their head on the ground between their hands.  So, their Pops gave them an extra hand tonight, and they LOVED it!  {Don’t worry, Sugie, Hatch was very careful.)

 IMG_8338 IMG_8339 IMG_8345

Fortunately for me, it appears that William prefers to do all of his shopping at Pottery Barn!  {Look at his chubby little fingers pointing out items on each page!}

IMG_8348 IMG_8351 IMG_8354

Hudson has had a recent fascination with finger puppets.  He is especially fond of the butterfly . . . so, as with all of his favorite things, he tried to eat his puppet before bed tonight!

Nighty Night, y’all!
